Mr. Cameron Stanley is the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO) for the Department of War (DoW). In this role, he leads the acceleration of the DoW’s adoption of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) to generate decision advantage.

Most recently, Mr. Stanley served as National Security Transformation Lead for Amazon Web Services. Prior to this appointment, he served as Chief Data Officer of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security from 2022–2024, where he oversaw policy development and implementation across the full spectrum of the Defense Intelligence and Security Enterprise. From 2021–2022, he was Chief of the Algorithmic Warfare Cross-Functional Team, also known as Project Maven - the data and AI pathfinder program tasked with enabling improved warfighter outcomes through the rapid development, deployment, and sustainment of fielded AI algorithms and data-driven solutions.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Stanley has amassed broad leadership experience across some of the Department’s most challenging science and technology initiatives, each focused on the rapid development and delivery of capabilities directly to warfighters. Leadership roles include Senior Science and Technology Advisor to the Commander, USSOUTHCOM; Senior JIEDDO Representative to the United Kingdom; and Chief of the JIEDDO Technology Strategy Division.

Mr. Andrew (Andy) Mapes is the Acting Principal Deputy Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer for the Office of the Secretary of War Chief Digital & Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO).

Prior to arriving at CDAO, Mr. Mapes was a civilian career intelligence officer at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), assigned as Deputy Staff Director and Strategic Advisor to the Deputy DNI for Mission Integration, where he received the Director of National Intelligence’s Distinguished Service Award. Before his role at ODNI, Mr. Mapes served in a non-career Senior Executive Service (SES) role as the Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the OSD Chief Management Officer (CMO), earning the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service. He has also performed prior program management and consultant roles in industry supporting defense and intelligence community clients.

Also an Army Reservist, Mr. Mapes serves as an Army Functional Area 30 Information Operations Officer assigned to the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Policy. He has two prior military deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Mr. Mapes holds a Juris Doctorate from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Franklin College. He earned his commission in the U.S. Army through the Indiana University-Indianapolis Army ROTC program.

Kaydee James is a senior operations and workforce leader currently serving as the Chief of Staff at the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office within the Department of War. She formerly served as the Chief of Staff of U.S. DOGE Service for the Executive Office of the President.

Ms. James supports the planning and execution of the CDAO’s technology programs - the War Data Platform, Maven Smart System, and its pace-setting projects - manages day-to-day staff operations, and coordinates internal policy and business processes, including budgeting, contracting, manpower, and organizational governance. She oversees stakeholder engagement and communications across government partners, the DoW, and the commercial technology sector.

Previously, Ms. James held leadership roles at Meta (Reality Labs) and Salesforce, where she led global, cross-functional teams supporting billion-dollar technology portfolios. Her work focused on aligning workforce strategy with mission priorities, improving execution through data-driven decision-making, and implementing technology-enabled process improvements that delivered significant cost savings and cycle-time reductions. Across roles, she is known for a trust-based leadership style and a consistent ability to align multiple stakeholders in support of complex technology and innovation objectives.

Colonel Melissa (Molly) Solsbury is the Maven Smart System (MSS) Program Director for the Department of War (DoW) within Research & Engineering (R&E). In this role, Colonel Solsbury is responsible for partnering with the services as a service-level experimentation support organization dedicated to enabling the seamless expansion and integration of the Maven Smart System within the military services.

Prior to arriving at CDAO, Colonel Solsbury served as the Director of the Chief of Staff of the Army Coordination Group in the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army. She served operational tours with the 1st SFOD (Delta), 82nd Airborne Division, Joint Special Operations Command, and 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), serving as the Senior Intelligence Officer at multiple echelons up to the J2 of the Special Operations Joint Task Force in Kabul, Afghanistan. Colonel Solsbury commanded the 513th Military Intelligence Brigade (Theater) and participated in campaigns in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, and North Africa.

Colonel Solsbury also served in a variety of roles ranging from intelligence and policy to research and development, including Director for JSOCx and Project Ridgway - technology, data, and innovation-focused initiatives charged with digital transformation within the Army and Joint Force.

Colonel Solsbury earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Statistical Analysis from LaSalle University, a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University, and completed her Senior Service College fellowship at MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory.

Ms. Elizabeth (Liz) Chirico is the War Data Platform Program Director for the Department of War (DoW) within Research & Engineering (R&E), Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO). In her role, she leads the War Data Platform and is spearheading its transition from the Advana team into the new platform. The War Data Platform builds on Advana’s success by focusing on the core data integration layer and providing standardized, secure data access to accelerate the development of agentic AI and other applications across the Department, enhancing decision support while maintaining strong governance.

With over 16 years of experience, Ms. Chirico has a notable history of driving acquisition reform and innovation within the Army. She is credited with delivering the Army’s first contracting Robotic Process Automation (RPA) bot, known as “DORA.”

Ms. Chirico holds a Master of Science in Acquisition and Contract Management from the Florida Institute of Technology, a Master of Studies in Law from the George Washington University Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature & Language from the University of Mary Washington. She is a Level III certified contracting professional and a member of the Army Acquisition Corps.

Mr. David (Davey) Gibian is the Deputy Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (DCDAO) for the Warfighter Mission Area for the Department of War (DoW) within Research & Engineering (R&E). In this role, Mr. Gibian is responsible for ensuring America’s warfighters and commanders have the AI-enabled capabilities necessary to train, fight, and win.

Mr. Gibian previously served as Chief Technology Officer for U.S. Army Special Operations Command, a senior advisor to U.S. Special Operations Command, and a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow. His private sector experience includes co-founding CalypsoAI, leading teams at Palantir, and serving as Partner and Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer for Highlander Partners. He also served as an enlisted airman in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Gibian holds a Bachelor of Arts with departmental honors from Columbia University. He holds patents in machine learning (ML) and authored the adversarial ML reference book, Hacking Artificial Intelligence.

Mr. Robert Malpass is the Deputy Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (DCDAO) for the Intelligence Mission Area for the Department of War (DoW) within Research & Engineering (R&E). In this role, he leads work integrating and applying intelligence community data to critical warfighting problems and is responsible for maximizing the utility of intelligence data to achieve warfighting outcomes.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Malpass served as a Special Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of War for Critical Technologies. He also worked for Palantir Technologies, served on the staff of the White House National Economic Council as Associate Director for Technology, Telecommunications, and Cyber policy, and worked as a research analyst and data scientist at the International Finance Corporation.

Mr. Malpass earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University.

Mr. David Jin is the Acting Deputy Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (DCDAO) for the Enterprise Mission Area for the Department of War (DoW) within Research & Engineering (R&E). In this role, Mr. Jin is responsible for delivering a set of Enterprise AI capabilities that enable DoW service members, civilians, and contractors to execute their missions with greater effectiveness and efficiency.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Jin led the Department’s rollout of GenAI.mil. He previously led the AI Assessment and Assurance division within CDAO, where he developed a series of capabilities for AI test & evaluation and continuous monitoring, including the DoW’s generative AI and Large Language Model evaluation approach.

Mr. Jin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Philosophy and a Master of Science in Mathematics, both from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Kaleb Redden is the Deputy Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer for Strategy, Governance, and Partnerships for the Department of War (DoW) within Research & Engineering (R&E). In this role, he leads a team focused on driving the DoW’s adoption of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence.

Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Redden served as the United States Deputy Coordinator for AUKUS on the National Security Council (NSC) staff and as a Senior Advisor in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. He has held multiple roles in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, including Principal Director for Nuclear & Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Policy and Chief of Staff for the 2018 National Defense Strategy process.

Mr. Redden earned an M.Phil in International Relations from the University of Cambridge, a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, International Studies, and Political Science from North Carolina State University.
