Mr. John D. Turner Acting Director for Policy, Office Chief Digital and AI Officer (CDAO)

John Turner is currently serving as the Acting Director for Policy within the Office of the Chief Digital and AI Office (CDAO). In this capacity, he oversees a team of experts developing strategy to accelerate Defense‐wide adoption of data, analytics and artificial intelligence. Mr. Turner leads associated initiatives to implement DoD strategy through maturing and connecting governance forums, developing responsive policy, fostering strategic engagement and driving collaborative approaches to talent management. 

Mr. Turner assumed the role as the Acting Director after serving as the Policy Directorate’s Principal Director. Mr. Turner has been a plank holder in cross‐Component data governance within the national security community since the stand‐up of the Intelligence Community's Chief Data Officer (CDO) Council in 2017.
