Arlington, VA –
In support of the Secretary of War memorandums issued on January 9, 2026, the Chief Digital and AI Office (CDAO) announced the planned transition of the GAMECHANGER policy search application from the War Data Platform (WDP) to GenAI.mil, effective June 26, 2026. GenAI.mil is the Department of War's (DoW) official enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) platform.
This move aligns with the Department’s active move toward an “AI-first” model by leveraging the growing adoption of GenAI.mil. Over 1.6 million Department personnel have used GenAI.mil, generating tens of millions of prompts and deploying hundreds of thousands of AI agents within its first six months of operation. Warfighters, civilians and contractors have put these capabilities to practical use right now, cutting many tasks from months to days.
“Moving GAMECHANGER to GenAI.mil will simplify access for users by putting it in a location open to all DoW employees,” said Cameron Stanley, Chief Digital and AI Officer. “This decision will ensure users are more likely to see notifications about program changes and will also help promote its expansion to new customers.”
GAMECHANGER is a pioneering, AI-supported search engine and analysis tool that holds more than 50,000 defense policy documents. GAMECHANGER enables users to search, discover, and understand defense documents quickly, often cutting research time from months down to hours.
CDAO will continue to offer support for the current GAMECHANGER application until June 26th, when users will be able to access policy search capabilities through GenAI.mil.
