Overview
The Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) warfighting approach aids the modern Combined Joint Force Commander in achieving decision advantage by enabling our military to make informed decisions with greater speed and accuracy than our adversaries. The CDAO has a major role in the development of CJADC2, providing governance standards and ensuring requirements, resourcing, and acquisitions are aligned. The DoD is iteratively developing and fielding CJADC2 capabilities and concepts today, and will continue to strengthen our C2 capabilities as the strategic environment, technology, and warfighting concepts evolve.
CJADC2 is not a single system, but a series of interconnected capabilities from the edge to the boardroom, providing the Joint commander with sensors and systems across the tactical, operational, and strategic levels to create a clearer picture of the current situation in the fog of war. CJADC2 also connects the command and control systems of key U.S. allies and partners, ensuring that we built trust and interoperability, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness of a combined international force.
GIDE
The Global Information Dominance Experiments (GIDE), co-sponsored with the Joint Staff, provide an iterative experimental series to deliver incremental capabilities to support CJADC2 efforts. GIDE is a series of experiments purposed to improve our collective Force capacity to detect, deter, and dominate across a globally interconnected security environment. Experimentation teams are comprised of leaders across all service branches, all eleven combatant commands, and international allies and partners.
Held quarterly, GIDE demonstrates how the DoD can use experimentation to mature data and software capabilities and link them to acquisition pathways for rapid and agile improvement and sustainment.
