Mr. Gavin Kliger is the Chief Data Officer for the Department of War. In this capacity, he oversees the strategic design and implementation of the Department's federated data architecture, enforcing data decrees to unlock information for AI development and accelerate decision advantage at the speed of relevance. He also oversees the Department's AI pace-setting projects, ensuring they are deconflicted, aligned with the Department’s strategic vision, and have the warfighting and enterprise data needed to succeed.
Mr. Kliger has served in a variety of high-impact technical roles across the private sector, with a focus on big data engineering, artificial intelligence, and large-scale system architecture, including tenures at LinkedIn and Databricks. Prior to his current position, he served as the Senior Advisor to the Director for Technology and Delivery at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), where he directed strategic technical modernization efforts.
Mr. Kliger earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
