Eugene Kuznetsov is the Deputy Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer for Enterprise Platforms and Services (EPS) within the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Department of Defense (DoD). He leads the mission to democratize access to quality DoD data and enabling the DoD’s 3 million personnel and international allies and partners to produce advanced analytics and operationalize AI for decision advantage. 

 

Previously, Mr. Kuznetsov was the Command Technology Officer (CTO) at Naval Special Warfare Command in Coronado, CA, where he spearheaded technology innovation with a focus on digital transformation and AI integration. As a serial startup founder, executive, and inventor, Mr. Kuznetsov has cultivated a broad expertise spanning platforms, sectors, and form factors. He has consistently led teams in delivering groundbreaking products at both nascent startups and large technology enterprises. 

 

Mr. Kuznetsov has played pivotal roles in driving innovation in diverse settings, from under-resourced startup teams to internal startup initiatives with budgets exceeding $100M in large organizations. His passion lies in identifying and nurturing small, high-performing teams to achieve exceptional outcomes.

 

His career highlights include serving as CTO and co-founder of Commure, Vice President of Product at Salesforce.com, and founder and CTO of DataPower Technology, Inc. He has also advised and invested in multiple cybersecurity, semiconductor, and energy firms.

 

Mr. Kuznetsov holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has been recognized as one of InfoWorld’s top 25 most influential CTOs and received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. Additionally, he holds multiple U.S. patents in digital health, software infrastructure, and semiconductor technology.
