Ms. Jennifer Hay Director, Defense Digital Service (DDS), Office Chief Digital and AI Officer (CDAO)


Jennifer Hay currently serves as the Director of Defense Digital Service (DDS) in the Department of Defense’s Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO). In this capacity, Jennifer is responsible for a team of highly experienced software and data engineers, data scientists, product managers, and user research designers with a proven track record of delivering software solutions in record time to the warfighter and the Department of Defense.

Prior to DDS, Jennifer led the Global Government Relations team at DataRobot, Inc. DataRobot is an end-to-end enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) platform that automates and accelerates machine learning. Jennifer managed the policy development and outreach efforts to the U.S. and European Union governments on responsible AI. She also supported delivery projects to several Department of Defense and Intelligence Community customers, as well as participants in the DataRobot “AI for Good” initiative.

Ms. Hay has spent nearly two decades working in various roles with the Department of Defense and the White House, including positions on the National Security Council staff, the office of the Deputy Secretary of Defense, the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security, and the Defense Intelligence Agency. 

Jennifer is a graduate of The George Washington University with an MA in International Affairs and Pepperdine University with a BA in Political Science.
